About Me

I'm a professional journalist based in New York City.

In 2020, I joined Resy as a Senior Writer, writing about restaurants and the people behind them. I’m currently Resy’s New York Editor, overseeing editorial content for Resy’s largest market.

Before joining Resy, I was a Senior Platforms Reporter at Digiday, reporting on the impact of platforms like Google, Facebook, YouTube, etc. on media publishers and brands.

From 2016 to 2019, I was Senior Hospitality Editor at Skift, a B2B media company that covers the travel, dining, and wellness industries. I reported daily on the travel and hospitality industry, covering hotels and Airbnb. I also covered the business of restaurants for Skift Table.

In 2017, I published a 60,000-word piece on the creation of the boutique hotel movement in the U.S., The Complete Oral History of Boutique Hotels, which spans four decades and included more than two dozen interviews.

Prior to working at Skift, I was the Managing Editor of Specialty Food News and Specialty Food Magazine. I was also the Managing Editor of Incentive magazine and the Senior Editor of Successful Meetings magazine. Both of these brands are dedicated to covering the meetings, incentives and travel industries. I've also been a staff editor at Travel Agent, Luxury Travel Advisor, and TravelAge West.

I've been quoted in publications that include the San Francisco Chronicle, U.S. News & World Report, Market Watch, Bloomberg, and Reuters.

I’ve spoken at and moderated panels and interviews at a number of travel and hospitality industry conferences. They include the Skift Global Forum, Skift Forum Europe, Skift Restaurants Forum, PULS (a hospitality industry conference in Copenhagen), the Serviced Apartment Summit Americas, the Independent Lodging Congress, H/X the Hotel Experience, the Chile Tourism Summit, the annual Visit California conference, and the Vacation Rental Women’s Summit.

While I've covered the travel and hospitality industry for more than 14 years now, I'm also interested in writing more about topics that include food, culture, technology, design, marketing, and social issues. I've been working as an editor and reporter in the publishing industry for a total of 20 years.

When I'm not typing up my latest story at warp speed or snapping a photo, you can usually find me (1) dog sitting for friends or (2) eating out -- or cooking in.
